Truck-bedz original Expedition series are constructed from 420D nylon backpack cloth which has been coated with special TPU polyurethane and then RF welded into shapes to fit nearly every pickup or SUV.  Our Truck-bedz Weekender series offer the same great fit and features made from PVC vinyl similar to Coleman and Aerobed at more budgetary prices.

Truck-bedz original Expedition series use only the best 420D nylon cloth which is far stronger than 210D nylon and stronger still than 210D polyester. Then we laminate the cloth with a special TPU polyurethane to give the Truck-bedz Expedition series far greater ability to hold air over any competing PVC vinyl solutions. TPU polyurethane yields far stronger and more durable air beds than anything built out of PVC vinyl, but it costs more.  For those of us who expect higher performance from our gear it's entirely worth it.

Truck-bedz Expedition series are the strongest air beds in the outdoors market and we routinely park large vehicles on them.  We've 'derated' them to 4,000 pounds weight capacity.  ALL PVC Vinyl air beds, with or without 'fibers' are rated at only 400 - 650 pounds burst strength despite errant claims to the contrary.  This includes our own Truck-bedz Weekender series and every Coleman or Aerobed fuzzy velour top bed available today.

Truck-bedz Expedition series airbeds do not release toxic phthalates and dioxins into our planets environment like EVERY PVC, vinyl and vinyl fiber or vinyl fabric airbed does.  That vinyl 'shower curtain' smell on other airbeds includes those very same toxic chemical elements that you don't want right next to your nose.

But vinyl PVC is cheap. And we all want cheap, don't we? Or do we?

PVC leaks through the microporosity in the walls, leaks through the seams, punctures easily, abrades easily, stretches easily, contains nasty toxins, harms the environment and a bunch of other nasty stuff...But it's cheap. We only sell it because it seems that a significant size of the US market prefers cheap over good quality.
